Wow, it’s been a long, nearly 16 weeks, with Mama Lucky and her babies.  But now we’re down to just one puppy left.  Flopsy (formerly Little Lucky) and now she’s running with both the big boys and the older kids here.  Although Cami is still her favorite playmate. And Lewy keeps a close eye on her.

Bobby Boy Adopted

Friday night our Bobby boy went to his forever home.  And he hit the jackpot with a wonderful family, who also adopted his brother, Chubby boy, (now Charlie) two weeks prior.  I think he’ll be quite happy there.  His new mom has been keeping up with him since she met him when he was just 4 weeks old.  After two weeks with Charlie, they decided they could handle two puppies, and it must have been fate, because Bobby boy had a failed meet and greet earlier in the day.  So the two will now get to grow up together.  And growing fast they are.  I couldn’t believe how big Charlie had gotten in just two weeks.  But Bobby is almost the same size.

Socks went to her new home on Monday night.  She found her perfect forever family, and will most likely be spoiled rotten within the week.  Her new parents fell in love with her at their meet and greet on Saturday morning.  She’ll have them all to herself, just like she prefers.  And I’m sure she’ll get all the cuddles and snuggles that she needs.  Which is a considerable amount.  But I think they’re up to the task.

Flopsy Girl – Still looking for her perfect family

Flopsy cried when her sister left on Monday night.  But luckily Cami was up to the task of cuddling her, and helping her calm down.  And within a few hours she was hanging out with all of the older dogs in the house.

Although only when watched closely.  She is still very much a puppy.  But she’s as big as, or bigger than most of the permanent residents here already.  And still growing fast.  And they are old, and sometimes cranky.  But we haven’t had any problems yet.  She backs right off when they decline her invitation to play with her.  She’s quickly learning who plays and who doesn’t.  (And she may have a wonderful new playmate soon, but it’s too early to tell yet.)

She wasn’t happy about sleeping alone last night though, and made her displeasure known.  Very loudly.  So once again, we sacrificed the littlest member of the foster pack, and had Cami sleep in the playpen with her.  She settled down about half an hour after Cami joined her, and was good all night.

We’re hopeful that her forever family will find her soon.  Until then, she’s working on learning her manners.  She’s almost got Stay down pat, and she’s pretty good at Bedtime, as long as there’s a treat involved.  She’s learning to live as part of a large pack, that aren’t her litter mates, and how to act around other dogs.
